All About Pattern Making

Patterns are the beginning of the sewing process. You need patterns to create a garment. This post will explain where to source patterns and provide resources showcasing how to make them from garments you already own.

Craft and fabric stores such as Spotlight and Lincraft have hundreds of patterns for any number of projects you are wanting to undertake. The patterns can be reused indefinitely, do not take up space as they are made from thin crepe paper, and can be adapted to create more styles.

The following videos show how to make patterns from clothing items you already own. This is a very useful process as you can achieve the same fit as something you already wear and love. These patterns can also be adapted and changed to create variety.
